Participants register for one Lab only. The exception is that a submission may address more than one focus domain, provided the solution genuinely and meaningfully answers both.
No. Everyone registers individually. If you have teammates, each person signs up on their own — you'll form your team on the challenge platform on the day itself. Going solo? We'll help you find teammates through our community forum and pre-challenge meetups.
If you registered for the DevLeague Challenge, our team will review your profile. Once confirmed, you'll receive the link to the pre-challenge briefing and all event materials — this link isn't publicly available, only confirmed candidates get access. If your application isn't selected, you're still very much invited to DevLeague Connect, where you can meet other attendees, connect with companies and sponsors, and be part of the room. If you registered for DevLeague Connect, you'll receive a confirmation email within minutes. That's your ticket in — just show up on the day and present your email at the registration desk.
The DevLeague Challenge is a one-day event held on 22 August at Xsolla Curine Academy. Teams select across four Labs, each with its own master brief, and will build your solution throughout the day, then present to a live judging panel. Results are announced at the closing ceremony.
Nope — it's completely free for candidates.
Open to all university students and beyond (above 18 years old) — tech and non-tech backgrounds alike. There is no upper experience cap. Whether you're a CS student, a business grad, or a career switcher with a design background, there's a space for you.
The challenge is designed as a full-day intensive. Partial attendance is not permitted as your team submission depends on you being present throughout the working session and final pitch.
Yes, as long as you are based in Malaysia and able to attend the challenge day and recruitment event in person on the day.
Yes — meals, refreshments, wifi, and power outlets will all be provided at the venue. Just bring your laptop and charger.
Yes, AI tools are permitted and encouraged - but their use must be disclosed in your submission. Judges want to see how you applied them strategically, not just whether you copied output.
Teams are 3 to 4 members. Smaller or larger team sizes are not permitted at the point of submission on the challenge platform.
Your journey doesn't stop here. You're still invited to attend DevLeague Connect the following day — where you can meet other attendees, network with sponsors and partners, and explore opportunities. Your TalentLabs profile also stays active, so you can continue building your skills, connect with peers on the forum, attend our pre-challenge workshops, and apply for roles from our hiring partner network. This series is one chapter, not the whole story.
DevLeague Connect is an open-to-all gathering held on 23 August at MITEC, the day after the challenge. It brings together all challenge participants, DevLeague Connect registrants, sponsoring companies, judges, mentors, and partners into one room. It's part networking, part talent engagement, part community — a space where the right conversations happen naturally. No formal interviews, no pressure, just the people who showed up across the series meeting face to face.
All confirmed challenge participants are automatically invited — no separate registration needed. If you're not joining a challenge, you can register directly for DevLeague Connect through the registration form. It's open to everyone.
Not at all. Plenty of people join because they want to test their skills against a real brief, work with new people, or just see what they're capable of in a high-energy setting. DevLeague Connect is the same — some come to network, some come to explore opportunities, some come to reconnect with people they met during the challenge. However you show up, the room is yours.
